I am grateful to have been able to spend a few minutes today with a very dear friend. When I think back to the first time I met Aubrey Edwards six years ago, I remember his kindness, gentle spirit, and love of laughter. Over the years, he and his wife, Phyllis, have been like a second set of parents to me. They have invested much time and energy in my life...everything from parenting and marriage advice to encouraging me in my spiritual life. Although Aubrey has fought difficult health battles since I've known him, he always asks how my family is and "what's new?" Today was no exception. Even in his evident physical pain, he made the effort to ask about my children and my husband. Not once did he complain or grumble about his physical condition, even when I asked him about it. He is a living display of God's grace. I pray that his days ahead are filled with comfort that only God can give him.

My first attempt
Well, I've seen so many other blogs, and decided to get in on the fad. So, with that said, this is my first posting. I hope to share inspiration, information and all-around matters of the heart. I'm sure my love of writing poetry, as well as my opinion of many debatable matters, will find it's way onto this blog. I hope you enjoy, and look forward to your feedback!
